Network Upgrades 4/25/2010
We upgraded the backbone of our network to utilize redundant fiber paths to all switches and replaced older equipment so we can provide IPv6 service to our customers. This upgrade was also necessary as part of the process of adding Hurricane Electric as an additional provider. We will be announcing IPv6 once we go live with HE some time during the month of May. Not only have we upgraded network equipment lately but we also added additional A/C units in the dedicated server room. The biggest unit is a split system that does not run on the building chilled water system so as to provide redundancy in case the water loop goes down. We also ducted the unit so there are cold air drops in each cold row and a shared hot air return. One smaller unit was added as well as supplemental cooling in the case that one unit goes down so there is still plenty of cooling. With this upgrade we now have N+1 cooling in the dedicated room as well as multiple network paths to each switch and redundant power supplies.

Joe's Datacenter Attends ARIN Meeting 4/18/2010
ARIN's Public Policy Meetings are an integral part of the Internet number resource policy development process, and ARIN staff and representatives report on the organization's activities at the Members Meetings. Together these meetings bring together industry professionals, government representatives, and Internet community leaders in an open and productive forum. We were happy to attend this meeting and take place in the discussions. With the IPv4 pool running out we are working hard to make sure we are ahead of the curve in moving to IPv6.

Hurricane Electric comes to  KC 4/01/2010

Check out Hurricane Electrics website http://www.he.net/ip_transit.html you can see that Oak Tower 324 E. 11th street has been added to the list. We have already signed contracts and are ready to go live once the fiber is lit. The estimated delivery is sometime in May. We have already setup the network equipment and have fiber ran to their dmarc. Hurricane Electric is known for having one of the best if not the best IPv6 network on the internet.
